No. For your first free class you can use any comfortable clothing that does not restrict movement. When you think it is time to come more often then a Gi can be purchased.

Yes but there is no full contact to the body and no hits to the head. Accidental contact may occur. Full contact (controlled) is reserved for only the black belts during competition.
